Panchang has been derived from two words Panch (meaning 5) and ang (meaning aspect). The panchang measures time in lunar months whose names reveal the secret path of stars and constellations. It lists four weeks of seven days, identified with planets and gods. It accounts five aspects - Din (Vara) or the solar day, Tithi or the lunar day, Nakshatra or the constellation, Yoga and Karan. There are total 30 Tithis in a lunar month. There are two Karans in each Tithi. One Tithi equals 12 degree difference between Moon and Sun. 2. Nakshatra - Ending Moment (EM) of asterism of the day, that is, the stellar mansion in which Moon is located for an observer at the center of the Earth. One Nakshatra equals 13 degrees:20 minutes. There are 27 Nakshatra in 360 degrees. 3. Yoga - Ending Moment (EM) of the angular relationship between Sun and Moon( Apparent Moon plus Apparent Sun). One Yoga equals 13 degrees:20 minutes. There are 27 Yogas in 360 degrees. 4. Karana - Ending Moment (EM) of half of a Tithi. One Karaṇa equals 6 degree difference between Moon and Sun. 5. Var -Weekday the seven weekdays. __________________ जिस दिन आपको यह मालूम करना हो कि आज का दिन आपका कैसा गुजरेगा तो उस दिन आप पंचाग में देखें कि चन्द्रमा किस नक्षत्र पर है। आप उस नक्षत्र को नं. 1 पर से गिन कर ऊपर लिखे चक्र के क्रमानुसार 28 नक्षत्र लगा लें। फिर देखें आपके नाम का नक्षत्र किस स्थान पर आता है। वैसा फल जानें। यदि आपके नाम का नक्षत्र वृत (गोलाकार) के अंदर पड़ेगा तो उस दिन शुभ समाचार, प्रिय बंधु से मिलाप व धन लाभ होगा। यदि गोल वृत के बाहर पड़े तो दिन का आधा भाग खुशी में, आधा भाग फिक्र और चिन्ता में व्यतीत होगा। यदि त्रिशूल के ऊपर पड़े तो पूरा दिन परेशानी, झगड़े, धन हानि व चिंता में व्यतीत होगा। __________________________ राहू काल :- According to Vedic astrology Rahu is an inauspicious planet.
