Pappy Js Pondering Points: 140902 - Ps 113:1....Praise the Lord! Praise, O servants of The Lord, Praise The Name of The Lord. - Ah another Labor Day has come and gone. My lovely Bride of 36 years had chores for us to accomplish yesterday during the Labor Day holiday. Those of you who know me, know my mechanical abilities are stretched even in operating a mechanical pencil. Ok, so Cindy had three projects for me to work on, all three mechanical in nature - if it sounds that this is not boding well for me, youd be on the right vector. My first project, attempting to revive our houses external flood lights (they had been working, but have stopped), was partially successful - meaning I was able to determine why theyve stopped - I was unable to revive them - though gave it a good effort (and fortunately wasnt shocked!).....The other two projects, Praise God, Cindy helped......She is, after all,the mechanical one of our Union. I have seen her repair things that had it been me, I would have rather pulled out my .45 cal and put the item out of our misery. The other two projects went actually fairly smooth - in fact my mechanical prowess (not) actually did come in handy once when a part was not seeming to fit correctly - Cindy couldnt get it to go - tah-dah - Jeff to the rescue......I was able to get the stubborn part to go, even without using a hammer......Heres my PJP2 point for today......When we strive to both work in our human strength, especially think we can, for example saying to The Lord Jesus, I got this Lord, no issues. That is exactly when we will find that no indeed we do NOT have this. I know more often than not, if I ever go into anything with that thought - my combat radar needs to sound because trouble is a brewing. Oh so many times over the past 59 years The Spirit has worked on me to firmly grasp the concept that His Grace is Sufficient. Please note He is still working on me to have a better understanding of the import of this understanding. So I will continue to work and ask Him to work on and within me to do just that. My prayer for us today is that we will surrender all to Him. May we release the boast that we are independent and need no help, especially from our Lord Jesus. May we come to know that His Help is always waiting for us, no matter what. As Paul writes to Timothy (1 Tim 6:21) - Grace be with you. Blessings
