Parenting Class 1 Samuel 2 Elis sons were horrible, according to the word. The thing is, they didnt get that way on their own. The Bible said that not only did the people in the temple and the courts know how bad they were but Eli did as well but did nothing. Yes he fussed a little but he did nothing beyond fussing. Beloved, the worst thing we can do with our blessings (children) when it comes to discipline and teaching them right from wrong is to do nothing. For Eli and his sons and their generations to come, God said he would cut them off. Other words, the blessings Eli enjoyed, because he refused to discipline or correct his children that their families would not enjoy those blessings. It is our (parents) duty to correct, teach, discipline, chastise etc. our children. It is not the governments job, not the mental health clinicians jobs, not the schools job, it is our job solely and it must start at home. While Eli was a dutiful priest, ultimately he didnt fair as well in parenting his sons. Lets learn from Eli and do better. God bless and keep you.
