Parenting.....not for the faint of heart. Its so easy to assume that its easy, after all, when a child is nicely dressed and does well in school it looks simple enough. The behind the scenes is what is most important and crucial I think. The man hours you log in for homework (loads and loads of it), the projects ( 7 1/2 hrs just on the biome), the teacher conferences and bath times, the preparing everyones clothes and snack bags for the next day, the bedtime routines and supper and snacks, the snuggle time and stories, haircuts and play dates, and running errands to buy afore mentioned clothes and snacks and bubbles for the bath, this my friends is where the the very real part of life comes in. You are responsible for a life. Or lives. This is heavy, and the most rewarding job Ive ever had or ever will have. I thank God every single day for this job and also ask Him for the strength for the next day. I do like for things to be just so and my childrens happiness is at the top of my list. So whether you have always had this role, or stepped into this role, give yourself a pat on the back...and maybe a doughnut....with sprinkles. I always appreciated my parents, but never enough until I had my own boys and truly realized the blood, sweat and tears that go into raising little ones. The other day I was home with Cam, he was sick and I had gone to get his assignments so we wouldnt fall behind. Somewhere from the confines of his bulging backpack several papers fell out and then I saw it. There was a paper that had the question Who do you admire most? His response....My mom. I cried, then took a picture of it. Parenting? Totally worth it. Best. Job. Ever.
