Parents, Grand Parents, Aunts & Uncles: I am on a mission to help BRING IMAGINATION BACK! Yes...imagination. Most children gave a difficult time creating things that require imagination. If it doesnt have batteries or plug in, they dont know what to do! Children read books, and the story in their mind gets wiped out when they see the movie version. When given paper, pencils, markers, crayons and asked to create something, they are sometimes at a loss. SO.... Lets come up with ideas of inexpensive items that could be given to children at Christmas or other times, that promote creativity! Think about your childhood... What did you do, or make when you felt creative? What supplies did you use? Ill start. 1. A package of white copy paper, colored pencils, crayons, stickers, markers, a stamp pad and rubber stamps. Put all items in a plastic box with an easy snap top. 2. A box of Popsicle sticks and a bottle of glue. (Do you remember making a pencil holder box for your parents?) 2 Alphabet stencils, animal stencils, paper, colored pencils and pencils. A Make Your Own Poster kit! 3. Legos or Lincoln logs. 4. Paper Dolls that you create, design clothing for, and color. 5. A Mancala Game. The Worlds Oldest Game, and my all time favorite. 6. Coloring Books, Word Search Books, Crossword Puzzles. 7. Air dry Crayola dough and paints. 8. A paint-by-number set. 9. Etch a sketch. Great for hand-eye coordination. 10. Board Games 11. A Rock & Mineral Identification book, hand lens, and polished rocks! 12. A Shell Identification book, hand lens, and shells. 13. A telescope and constellation book. 14. A globe, and an atlas. 15. A thesaurus and a really cool dictionary with lots of cool pictures. 16. A kids science book about body systems. Great for the budding physician in your family! 17. A microscope and specimen slides. 18. A karaoke machine and music.(Yes, Frozen has a karaoke version! ) 18. Gardening gloves, tools a book about gardening for kids, seed packets and soil. 19. An apron, kid-sized kitchen tools, a cookbook, and baking supplies. 20. Musical instruments, drum, sticks, tambourine, recorder. 21. Plastic lanyard lacing, hooks and rings. Ok... Please add to this list! Lets all BRING IMAGINATION BACK this Christmas!
