Park run 239 25/10/14 Today was all about cake.... uh I mean the Lydney 0-5K group!! whoop whoop whoop .....didnt they do well!! Conditions best described as murky and squelchy, 132 of us crazy kids tipped up for a run. Dave was back and had the Daveoke machine out, broadcasting health and safety to Newent and Monmouth simultaneously. A couple of us had t shirts, I couldnt tell you who as I couldnt see through the masses, but well done! Guy christened the Inov-8s at last. Rob Freeman ran as Anna, did he wear your undies too Anna? second thoughts I dont want to know! Sharla Fleet decided to have a go at scanning, great day to choose.....what I love about my lovely friend Sharla is she wont make a fuss about it...we might only hear about how brilliant she was for 6 or 7 weeks, though Ness did her level best to sabotage her moment wandering off with token 132 and denying all knowledge. New game today called wheres Waltey....everywhere thats where he was he was, like Mr pop off from rent a ghost, if you know who i mean then your are in your 40s, deal with it. If you have no idea who Im on about then of course its the fantastic Walter Leach who has been helping the 0-5K group to reach todays pinnacle every Monday night for the last 6 weeks ish. He was here, there and everywhere making sure his brood all returned safely - well done Walt. First was Huw Evans in 18.02, first lady being Sherry Hall in 23.54. Highest age graders were Pete Ward 77.86% and Jacqui Green 68.43% - congratulations!! Some great performances up top by Marcus Bennetto, Jack Fleet and Dave Lowthian, all sub 20. PBs for Andrew Lowe, Donna Howell, Grace Montague-Fuller, Paul Cox, Ross Denison, Pauline Seubert, Sophie Nicholson, Hayley Whittington, Nicki Allen, Debbie Knight, Marie Thomas, Sash Dobbin, Claire King and Jess Whiteley, OK big up for the 0-5K team and other first timers; Elijah Nolan, Rhodri Philips, Jacob Bell, Andrew Highfield, Melanie Birmingham, Robert Hoskins, Simon Row, Bethany Eltringham, Michael Harper, Karen Geelhoed, Izzy Byrne, Mary Hoskins, Emma Randall, Caroline Rickards, Lynette Haslam, Kayleigh Barnett, Agnes Robins, Jo Ashley-Towell, Tracey Hayes (my neighbor) and Kerry Currie (my other neighbor). Big thank you to those who have been coaching the 0-5k group Glen Harvey, Peter Compton, Claireabella Morgan and afore mentioned Walter Leach. just one last mention for a very special performance today, Oliver Fleet .....Ollie ran the first lap with both shoe laces undone, how he satyed upright is a complete mystery to me, but fair play little man you did good!! Big shout out to our volunteers, especially the mini Knotts and Maisie Blake - thank you so much. OK, beer, pizza and strictly. Enjoy!
