Parkland is one of the most desirable cities in Florida. Because of that, more and more families want to call Parkland home. Everyone at the City is working hard to make sure that as these new homes come in, they are coming in, in a way that is complimentary to the City. We are requiring the developer to make road safety and lighting a priority in their construction. We are using their impact fees and straight out developer donations to make improvements, including A NEW FIRE STATION, IMPROVEMENTS TO OUR PARKS, THE DOG PARK, LIBRARY IMPROVEMENTS and the list goes on and on. Parkland has always believe, development pays for development! As such, we continually lower the tax rate to our residents. Most important on the School front, over the last decade as these developments were platted, the School Board advised that they had capacity for the new homes. As many are aware, PARKLAND made them set land aside for future schools, plus we made them straight out donate 2 Million dollars to build more classrooms over and above their impact fees.
