Parliament waits for PM’s proposals GOVERNMENTS plan to push wide-ranging constitutional changes has kept parliament from going into recess for about a month. The Namibian has learned that the National Assembly (NA) was due to go on break on 10 July and was supposed to resume on 9 September, but the house is still in session. Parliamentary sources said the reason for keeping the NA in session was to enable it to deal with a few bills which needed passing. Far-reaching constitutional changes, said to be driven by Prime Minister Hage Geingob, Attorney General Albert Kawana and Law Reform Commissioner Sacky Shanghala, are allegedly the reason why the NA has been kept in session for nearly a month longer...
