Part 22 (Grave and sepulcher) Grave and sepulcher are burial - TopicsExpress

Part 22 (Grave and sepulcher) Grave and sepulcher are burial places of the dead. Grave is a pit or opening in the earth where a body is buried. Lazarus was placed in a grave or cave covered by a stone (John 11:38). Sepulcher is an above-ground architectural edifice in which the dead are kept in chambers. A sepulcher was hewn out of a rock and a stone was rolled to its door (Mark 15:46; John 19:41). The spirit of Ama said that Jesus was placed in a sepulcher owned by Nicodemus which I believe. I also believe that the two thieves who were crucified with Him were also in the same sepulcher (Isaiah 53:9). So it is not correct to say “empty tomb” but say that the corpse of Jesus was missing”. I believe that the Monument of Absalom or Absalom’s Pillar is that sepulcher which is dated at about the first century BC. The Jews built over it the Temple of Venus which Saint Helena, the mother of Emperor Constantine, demolished in the fourth century AD in her search for the true cross of Jesus Christ (pages 202-204, Pasiong Mahal). I also think the monument is named Absalom, a son of King David, who lived a thousand years before, because he rebelled against his father (2 Samuel chapters 13-19) to make the place an abomination. The “popular belief that the monument is associated with him had the curious effect that devout Jews, Muslims and Christians would throw stones at it whenever they passed by, with the result that in time the stones almost hid the edifice” (illustrated guide to jerusalem, Eliyahu Wager, page 23; Insight Guides, Jerusalem, page 141).
