Part 25 (Arrest of Jesus) On the fourteenth day of the first - TopicsExpress

Part 25 (Arrest of Jesus) On the fourteenth day of the first month of the Jewish calendar during the time of Jesus was the Passover. Jesus and his apostles including the disciple that Jesus loved had their Passover meal called “seder” in the Upper Room of a house in Jerusalem. We call this “The Last Supper”. Before they went out to the Mount of Olives, they sang a hymn. At the Garden of Gethsemane at the Mount of Olives, Jesus was arrested. His arrest is cited in Matthew 26:47-56, Mark 14:43-50, Luke 22:47-53, and John 18:1-10. Judas led the arresting group composed of Roman soldiers, and some temple guards sent by the chief priests and the Pharisees. Jesus asked the group who they were looking for. They answered, ‘Jesus of Nazareth’, to which Jesus said, ‘I am He.’ Only the evangelist John mentioned that they went backward and fell to the ground (John 18:6). Could Jesus at this point have escaped? He could have but He chose not to. Jesus even said in Matthew 26:53 that He could ask help from the Father, and the Father would at once send to Jesus more than twelve legions of angels to rescue Him. He could have but He chose not to. Why? In order that the Scripture would be fulfilled (Matthew 26:54, Mark 14:49). Jesus knew what awaited Him and He was willing to drink the cup of suffering given to Him by the Father. The spirit of Ama revealed the falling to the ground of the arresting party. John implied that it happened only once. Ama told us (plural) that Jesus asked the arresting party who they were looking for THREE times, and each time, they went backward and fell to the ground. That was THREE times that they fell to the ground and they did not even know what happened to them. Jesus could have escaped but He chose not to. Sorry I was not able to post for a few days. My computer is hacked. To the hacker: do you love your fellowmen? Then follow Jesus for no one can go to Heaven unless he passes through Jesus (John 14:6). He is the way, the truth, and the life. Religion cannot guarantee one’s going to Heaven. Ama said that we have to accept Jesus Christ as true God AND true man. We can enter Heaven by our works AND faith in the true God.
