Part One: My quest of reading for knowlege first began with the Bible, when I was in vacation bible school they made it fun, and though it was an all Black church we colored coloring books of these White Prophets and read beautiful stories. (They were heroes in fact I remember coloring White Mosess tunic blue and his robe red because he was like superman... I digress) Then began my interest in all things feline (mainly big cats) I read anything I could get my hands on about cats including domesticated cats, I watched all the Mutual of Omaha tv programs about them... I liked comics only a little at first because though I liked superman I couldnt relate to him at all, then between 4th and 5th grade it seems all at once I learned about the X-men comics and Safari Animal / Wildlife Cards (then later Story of America cards) this is where my love of reading truly blossomed, by the end of 5th grade I tested as reading above 12th grade level, I was reading so much my Grandmother actually began to ration my reading materials to me because I was forcing her to buy to much, between all the comics and safari animal cards, lol
