Part X NASA Mission Control reporting for service. Mainframe Laserbeam Network engaged. Time/Sound Dilution System online. In the remnants of the Kennedy Space Center, their computer systems and radars beep and flicker back to life. Throughout the heavily damaged and partially irradiated complex, magnetic tape systems whirl to life. Lines of industrial printers spit paper trails teeming with calculations. Rows of scientists relay communications to and from every major radio telescope left standing. Arecibo Observatory Mission Control reporting. Shrouded safely in the dense rainforests of Puerto Rico, protected from the ravages of a nuclear holocaust, Arecibos aperture dish stands flawless and ready for action. Gravity well turbines commence. An array of electro-magnetic quantum props sitting in the dark engage underneath the dish. The whole array pushes against its anchorings and to the sky it will go. Tension loaded anchors grounding the dish in place snap back. Moorings Disengaged. NASA, we have lift off. Spinning quantum props work their magic and the whole radioscope rises from the Earth; the inner plate begins to rotate. boosting away from her support pylons, Arecibo Radioscope array levitates skyward. Arecibo Observatory, commence to lower Electrostatic needle 1 through 50 on 10 second intervals. The spinning inner dish is encompassed on all sides with stationary electrostatic needles perched on top of a metal lace masts located on the rim. One by one, each mast folds down; each needle meets the inner array. The worlds largest radioscope transforms into an unbelievably large floating turntable; each needle glides along the surface unleashing unparalleled sound into the deep reaches of space and time, and with each metronomic pulse the surrounding air above bubbles and disrupts clearing a hole through the radioactive cloud cover. A network of dishes and radioscopes spanning all four corners of the planet glow bright and point to the stars to broadcast a tender pleasing sound to the heavens. Dead voices rise up and merge with a Deep bass that fills out the sound and permeates the void. Kennedy Time-Space Center waits and prays, hoping the gods would hear their calling and oblige their prayers for spatial salvation. Finally the gods do oblige. Time on parchment paper unfurls across their desks. NASAs Best hastily assemble and unsheathe their roll and slide rulers. Graph lines, latin and greek symbols, arcs, and trajectories are scribbled down across the time line as the scientists pick and choose which frames of reference to pull into the present. Decisions are made and moons of Earths past are plucked and placed into the present, laid to rest along the orbit of the original. The Earths rotation slows and shutters to a halt. A collective human calling to the past halts the forward movement of time. Dutifully borrowing from the past and brought to the present, thousands of moons form a tremendous unified gear around the globe that groans into reverse motion. An astronomical gear working counterclockwise spools back time.
