Part of Speech Examples A part of speech is a class of words based on their function and the way they work in a sentence. Some parts of speech are adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, nouns, interjections, prepositions, pronouns and verbs. Adjectives Adjectives describe nouns or pronouns.
