Part of a Letter from Elder Mathis! Right when I arrived in Mexico I basically got a folder, which contained name tags, information, and my companion´s name. He wasn´t there yet. Then I emailed home. But, right after that-BOOM!! The thunder and PSSSHHHH the rain showers! Mom, that is so crazy about the hailstorm, too! But yes, this was the biggest rain storm I have yet exerienced. I fell into a knee deep puddle of water but it was great. One thing I have learned is that this is gonna be harder than I thought, which is honestly a good thing. Someone made a comment yesterday about when we are closer to God, we realize more things we can improve on. I am trying to work on things but at the same time not to overwhelm myself. It has to be a challenge, and without it being a challenge it couldn´t be a success, so that is a blessing. Thanks mom for your scripture, it has already helped. Another thing I have learned is that in the end things will be okay. Right now I am working, and everything in between will be worked out. God knows me personally and is extremely patient with my weaknesses and very encouraging with my strengths. He lives and loves us perfectly. One of my mottos is to put my trust in Him who loves me perfectly. It also is comforting to know that He knows what I truly want even when sometimes I don´t and as long as I trust Him and obey willingly things work out. I have no doubts that when I do my part He fulfills His. That´s where the willingness to try comes in. But I am and things are going well, not easy but pleasant.
