Part of the reason I left Facebook for 3+ months...was oversensationalized media. Watching the news today...I was embarrassed... they were showing things like wet streets...Be careful out there...its slippery... and be careful...its spooky... they keep showing the same tree down in Oahu... its creeping toward the highway.... I was here for Iniki with 7 month pregnant wife, and our house was damaged and our tiny shop was simply erased. I understand it is so neccessary to be prepared and safe BUT DO WE NEED TO WHIP THIS INTO A FOAMY FROTH? LOL...There is something ironic about this. They are telling people its still safe to (pull) tapwater... how have we gotten to this place where (some of us) need to be told the most basic components of common sense? It seems like we are being trained and stimulated to remain in a state of fear. Again...we need to be safe and use common sense. We are a small isolated out of the way little rock... but sheesh? Anyone else feeling like this is over hyped? Maybe that is the only way to get people to prepare and be safe and smart... but sheesh... we get rain and wind all the time here. Thoughts?
