Partha Pattnaik,Thanks for the challenge :).Im an ameture occasional reader,started pretty late,been just few years,have read just handful of them.And Im not sure if short stories can be part of this list,but Im putting few of them anyway :). Here is my list of top ten books (not neccesarily in the order):- 1). To kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee 2).Paths of Glory by Jeffrey Archer 3).Kane and Abel by Jeffrey Archer 4).The Godfather by Mario Puzo 5).Between the Assasinations by Arvind Adiga (short story) 6).The night train at Deoli and other stories by Ruskin Bond (short story) 7).The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger 8).The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho 9).Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri(short story) 10)The Mother by Maxim Gorky I would use this opportunity to name Chabilo madhu barnobodha by the legendary Madhusudhan Rao(first book any odia kid used to read in late 80s), Chanda mama(odia version) and word power made easy by Norman Lewis for shaping up my life. Now that Im done Im challenging Neeladri Bihari Otta Sampashree Nayak Swateek Jena Dhruv Girdhar Soumya Smruti Mishra.You people should come out with your list ASAP :).Keep reading folks,cheers :)
