Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (second from right) presents certificate of merit to Hanoi Radio Television NDO -Hanoi Radio Television held a ceremony on October 12 to receive Independence Order, first class, for the second time and celebrate its 60th anniversary. The event was attended by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; Politburo member and Secretary of Hanoi municipal Party Committee, Pham Quang Nghi; and Party Central Committee‘s member and Chairman of Hanoi city People’s Committee, Nguyen The Thao. Speaking at the event, Chairman Thao expressed his hope that Hanoi Radio Television would work together with the capital’s press agencies to link the city’s Party Committee and authorities with residents by reflecting people’s aspirations to the administration while updating new guidelines and policies to the dwellers. He also urged Hanoi Radio Television to improve its operations performance and diversify its programmes to meet the increasing demand of viewers. Launched on October 14, 1954, the television now runs three radio channel, two television channels, a cable TV network, an online newspaper and a TV magazine.
