Pasco County Florida Clerk of Court Paula ONeil has announced that the county will no longer provide officiants for civil marriage ceremonies. In explaining this decision she said The problem is we cant discriminate. Unlike Ms ONeil I do not consider it a problem that as of tomorrow morning she will not be able to discriminate against some of the citizens of her county. As many as 14 Florida counties have discovered this weekend that they can no longer afford to conduct civil marriage ceremonies.
