Passage Comprehension: The following question contains a passage followed by a question. Read the passage carefully and answer the question. Thomas Babington Macaulay, in his speech to the British parliament in 1835 said, I have travelled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief. Such wealth I have seen in the country, such high moral values, people of such calibre, that I do not think we would conquer this country, unless we break the very backbone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage, and therefore, I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their own, they will lose their self esteem, their native culture and they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation. Which of the following action taken by the British in India was not as per Macaulays proposal. 1)The British propagated their agenda through their education system and made the new generation believe that Indian made goods were inferior to imported ones. 2)The British tried to convince the younger generation that the great epics such as Mahabharat and Ramayan which had greatly influenced the Indian culture and society were just imaginary stories. 3)The British built historic monuments at many places in the country. 4)None of these.
