Pastor Aaron Hansel In light of the passing of Donna Proverbs 22:1 NIV A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. Death for a Christian is a , not a . You dont only live once, we live everyday. We die once...after that the judgement... what are you doing with the life Jesus gave you. Dont do what ever you want. Live each day like it is your last. Our first and greatest calling is intimacy with Jesus. Repent..change the way we think. Experience a relationship with Christ. God doesnt see what you see in you. He looks thru the eyes of Christ. We need to come back to the reality of our first day with Christ. Let our stuff be the stuff but let the reality of Christ be real. Be saved is not just fire insurance but being in Christ as a life. Hinderences of people getting saved Acts 24:22-26 NIV Then Felix, who was well acquainted with the Way, adjourned the proceedings. “When Lysias the commander comes,” he said, “I will decide your case.” He ordered the centurion to keep Paul under guard but to give him some freedom and permit his friends to take care of his needs. Several days later Felix came with his wife Drusilla, who was Jewish. He sent for Paul and listened to him as he spoke about faith in Christ Jesus. As Paul talked about righteousness, self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and said, “That’s enough for now! You may leave. When I find it convenient, I will send for you.” At the same time he was hoping that Paul would offer him a bribe, so he sent for him frequently and talked with him. Felix Trembled in the presence of Paul. (Word) Righteousness Fekuxs wife was marriage to someone else His heart was hardened towards the word of God 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 NIV We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 MSG How? you ask. In Christ. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God. Self control. Be alert Matthew 13:13-15 NIV This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: “ ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’ Judgement Tozor... if God removed the Holy Spirit most churches would not notice. 2 Corinthians 6:2 NIV For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.” I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. Acts 26:1, 3-5, ....... 20-27 NIV Then Agrippa said to Paul, “You have permission to speak for yourself.” So Paul motioned with his hand and began his defense: and especially so because you are well acquainted with all the Jewish customs and controversies. Therefore, I beg you to listen to me patiently. “The Jewish people all know the way I have lived ever since I was a child, from the beginning of my life in my own country, and also in Jerusalem. They have known me for a long time and can testify, if they are willing, that I conformed to the strictest sect of our religion, living as a Pharisee. First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds. That is why some Jews seized me in the temple courts and tried to kill me. But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.” At this point Festus interrupted Paul’s defense. “You are out of your mind, Paul!” he shouted. “Your great learning is driving you insane.” “I am not insane, most excellent Festus,” Paul replied. “What I am saying is true and reasonable. The king is familiar with these things, and I can speak freely to him. I am convinced that none of this has escaped his notice, because it was not done in a corner. King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know you do.” Acts 26:28-29 NIV Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?” Paul replied, “Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.” Ephesians 3:20-21 MSG God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Glory to God in the church! Glory to God in the Messiah, in Jesus! Glory down all the generations! Glory through all millennia! Oh, yes!
