Pastor Gill’s Babblings November 9, 2013 Memory is a tricky thing. They say if you don’t use it, you lose it. Remembrance Day is special for us all and we should never forget what others did for us. We have among us real heroes that gave so much. They faced their fears and stood their ground and many died. Honour should be theirs year round, not just once a year. They should have pensions that match or exceed the politicians that sent them out to war. They should not have to pay taxes for they gave enough for country and world. There should be a special place for those men and women who gave so much for us. Jesus also asked us to remember Him and what He had done for us. We share around the Communion Table each month to honour and remember His sacrifice and gift to us. Each time a person stands and testifies of the blessings of God that person becomes a hero. They stood and defeated their enemy once again. They stood their ground and died to self and never let the devil win. Christians are heroes each time they give and sacrifice for others and thereby defeat the devil. It’s what we should do and what we need to do. Sacrifice is what God’s children do. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is our inspiration. Follow Him and watch the enemy run!
