Pastor Mikes Daily Devotion Tuesday December 30, 2014 Revelation 21:3–4, And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” One of the biggest issue of our day is health care. Our current president has staked his legacy on the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obama Care. The general idea behind this plan is that all Americans would be covered by health insurance that is both affordable and comprehensive. There are many skeptics out there, and the debate still rages if this thing will even work. In our verses today, there is now a new heaven and a new earth, sin has been done away with, and God now dwells with His people. This new kingdom will have the ultimate in social health care. This is not man trying to make the best of an impossible situation, but a care plan established and implemented by God. This plan promises to wipe away every tear from their (our) eyes. There will no longer be anything to be sorry about; there will be no more sadness or disappointment. Another element of this plan is that it will do away with death. Death is always the place that man realizes his limitations, recognizes his fear, and is brutalized by despair. This plan will be the solution for all sorrow and pain; never again will anyone cry or mourn. Since sin (the reason health care is even necessary) will be done away with, all the things listed above will simply cease to exist. So how does one register for this plan? You cannot register for health care this good, it is a fringe benefit that God gives to all who are His. You simply come to Him as a sinner with a repentant heart, receive Him, and He promises to give you a fresh start with all of the benefits of the riches of His glory. Romans 11:33, Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
