Pastor Shola Mene writes: “Is it not possible for us to hold conferences, conventions and major meetings without raising special offerings, seed faith and pledges? Cant we teach prosperity without altar calls for money? If we felt the LORD laid on your heart that specific number of people should give specific amount, why do we go beyond that point until others look like sinners if they dont respond? Just asking.” Plumline, Just Commenting: $5,000.00; $10,000.00; Now $15,000.00 Going, Going, Gone. The highest bidder gets the anointing. Its Auction Time, oh, sorry, offering time! When money goes up, blessing comes down! So does the inflation!! My double-double o, my double-double! You house is double-double o! Your car is double-double o! Well, you insurance fee will be double-double, too! Soon, they might add, Your wife/husband is double-double o! Then, your pikin will be double-double o. Biblical illiteracy is really astounding in this end-time. Some churches make members poorer than they were when they came into the church, and the members gladly loaned away their rents & (brain), childrens tuition, health insurance and their 2.5 rectangular meals fees for offering that brings interest. Galatians 6:6-10 is so badly twisted to con folks; forgetting that Luke 6:38 is not written as the motif for giving. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom, For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you, people embellish the gluttons belly. At a prayer meeting, a minister told the congregation to claim all the major corporation in the South Eastern city of the country where oil is pumped out because the wealth of the unbel is being transferred to the bel. Youve got to hear people claiming British Airways office, Banks, etc. Their dreams & fantasy will be double-double o! As a younger believer, a preacher once collected auction money so many times during the breakthrough service to the point that he said we should bring tangible materials in place of money. I had no money left; so I thought about my wedding suit. As I was thinking about donating it, I thought if madam catches me throwing away our wedding collections, wont my trouble be double-double o? I repented and gave some freshly-labored-to-get money. If I catch that preacher, I will ask for a refund or reimbursement double-double o! Giving is godly including offering, tithes and benevolent offering, but there is a biblical way to give and, or encourage people to give as an act of worship to the Lord, to support the minister in order to make the ministry work lighter for him to do & to support the kingdom project. In the Bible, orphans, poor, widows and the less privilege will come to the temple to eat from the abundance of the food at the temple after worship. Also, the church was the lighthouse for the community. The offerings were used to maintain temple & temple workers, no doubt, but also used for community development. On a lighter note, Yal wanna give some change (offering) to your brother. I prefer Euro, $$$ & some Pounds!!! Remember, there is no distance in the spirit realm, so use electronic transfer. The Spirit will activate the delivery. Just kidding. Give to the Lord what belongs to Him from a cheerful and gracious heart; give to Uncle Sam & IRS what belongs to him for community development/maintenance; give to your neighbors whose children have been wearing the same shoes to school for two sessions; give to your covenant partners, children and home; go on vacation when needed (youve passed by Premier hotel since you were born but never entered one room within just to relax; its time get some premier treatment there), its good for the body and its not a luxury; support a worthwhile project, and, please, plan for the future, your old age so that you do not suffer and or become a burden to your children and grandchildren.
