The accused allegedly perpetuated the act on January 15, 2014 at about 8:20 pm at The Apostolic Church of Nigeria Mission, Lawna Territory, Ede District, Gbongan, headquarters of Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun state. Adepoju allegedly stabbed a co-Pastor, Oguntoye, to death after an argument between them at the church premises. The police prosecutor, Mr Oladoye Joshua, a sergeant, told the court that the accused allegedly used a jack-knife to stab Oguntoye during an argument. He told the court that the two Pastors had earlier engaged in a fisticuff over an issue before the accused eventually stabbed him to death. The prosecution maintained that the accused was allegedly responsible for the untimely death of Pastor Oguntoye, stressing that the offence was against the law of the land. According to him, the accused person committed an offence punishable under Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003. However, the plea of the accused person who was represented by Mrs Nnenna Ngwu was not taken due to the nature of the offence he committed. In his ruling, the presiding magistrate, Adebayo Lasisi, ordered the accused person to be remanded in Ilesa prison. He subsequently adjourned the case till March 7, 2014.
