Pastors Corner - January 18, 2015 A weekly devotional from Pastor James taken from the Sunday morning bulletin. This weekend, the people of our great nation will stop to reflect on the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Our brother, Dr. King, was a man who the LORD used to make a change in our country during a very difficult time. As we get closer to the actual holiday, you will see specials on television and reads articles on the Internet that will point out Dr. Kings flaws. If you look to him for perfection, you will be depressed. We ALL have fallen short of perfection except one; Jesus Christ. As we reflect on the life of Dr. King, let it be a reminder of how important it is to look up to the one that will always be the perfect example, Jesus. Paul told the Hebrews to do the same when he said, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2) May we all look to Jesus!
