Pastors Note: Dear Central Waterside Friends and Family, I - TopicsExpress

Pastors Note: Dear Central Waterside Friends and Family, I can’t wait to worship again with you this Sunday! Last week, we got prepared for the Mardi Gras Parade and enjoyed a beautiful day on the beach. We learned about God’s desire for hearts and relationships instead of buildings and temples. Brett and the band did an amazing job and wowed us all with their version of U2’s “In the Name of Love.” It was awesome! We celebrated communion and began the forty days of Lent. “Lent” literally means “Spring” and is the time of year when we prepare our hearts for the Passion story, especially Easter. As we look toward Easter, take note of a few thoughts: (Insert subliminal message here about setting clocks ahead one hour) 1) This week: We will be finishing our “Epic Failures” series by looking at Adam and Eve’s epic failure in obedience that got them kicked out of the Garden of Eden. (insert 2nd subliminal message about setting clocks ahead one hour) We all have a little Adam and Eve in us and we find ourselves repeating this story too much. Perhaps if we look to God’s Yes instead of the NO’s, we might find some peace and purpose. This series also serves as a transition to a new series we will be doing with the rest of Central called “God of Yes.” Brett and the band are leading the music and I can’t wait to worship with them. Remember to bring your beach chairs in case we get to be outside (I HOPE so!). Also, remember to set your CLOCKS AHEAD ONE HOUR for daylight savings time. 2) The senior social group has planned a naval museum tour for Tuesday, March 11th & your guide will be one of our very own Waterside owneres, Ardell Johnson! If you would like to carpool to the museum you can meet at the Waterside offices at 9:00am in order to depart at 9:30am (5668 Gulf Breeze Parkway, across the street from the zoo) or you can meet us at the entrance to the Naval Museum at 10:30am.Check out the website for more info, admission is free. navalaviationmuseum.org/ Please RSVP to Jessi at [email protected] by Monday, March 10th. (insert 3rd secret message to really drive home the idea that they need to set their clocks ahead one hour for this Sunday). 3) DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME: Remember to set your clocks ahead before you go to sleep on Saturday night…. (This is a pretty plain message to remind people that they need to set their clocks ahead so they don’t miss worship by one hour, and then get embarrassed by showing up late and looking kinda dopey.) Spring Forward! 4) Easter: This Easter is going to be our very first Easter as Central Waterside Church. We are planning some really special services for Good Friday and Easter. Take note of the schedule below (Insert 4th subliminal message to set your clocks ahead). Good Friday- Evening of April 18 across from western most public beach access by Fort Pickens gate. It will be a joint communion and Good Friday service you won’t forget. Easter-April 20- 6 a.m (Sunrise), 8:00 a.m., and 9:30 am. - THREE special services to share the good news of the risen Lord. If we have to be inside due to bad weather, we will only have two services (6 a.m. sunrise and 9:00 a.m. If you would like to be baptized, these are awesome services to celebrate your profession of faith. Please e-mail Jessi at [email protected] to set up the arrangements. It’s going to be great, especially when you have your clocks set forward. I can’t wait to see you this Sunday! Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead! Invite a friend and don’t forget to set your clocks ahead. Lastly, remember to set your clocks ahead. Love one. Love another.
