Pat and Karen would like to thank Carl Wind for his 10 years of service with us. Carl retired last week after staying to help us for eight years longer than he had planned to! It is a bittersweet time because, although we are happy for Carl, who more than deserves his retirement, the place wont be the same without him. Carl believed in us before we even were a club. The moment Karen decided to buy the course, she asked Carl if he would be their General Manager, and he did not hesitate. With a smile and a hug, he said yes, he would get us started for a couple of years, and that was the beginning of the new Alvin Golf & Country Club. (And then Karen went home and told Pat that they were buying a golf course.) :-) Enjoy your retirement, Carl! We know that we will still see you at the club running the Wednesday Scramble--and enjoying a lot more golf!
