PathFinders was honoured to welcome a delegation of nearly 20 senior government and inter-agency officials to PathFinders’ Centre today in their capacity as Macau’s Human Trafficking Deterrent measures Concern Committee. The delegation included Ms. Gloria Ko, Head of the Hong Kong Office of the UN International Organisation for Migration (iom.int/cms/en/sites/iom/home.html), Mr Wong Chi Hong (Director, Labour Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR, China) (dsal.gov.mo/english/introduction.htm), Mr Lai Kam Kun (Deputy Commissioner of the Security Police, Macao SAR), Mr Vong Kuok Chong (Head of Marine Enforcement, Customs Services, Macao SAR), Ms Dora Ng Wai Han (Head of Research Division, Labour Department, Macao SAR)) and Ms Lurdes Maria Sales (Head of Labour Inspection Department, Macao SAR) and representatives from the Human Resources Office of the Macao SAR. PathFinders’ CEO, Kay McArdle, made opening remarks and warmly welcomed our visitors. COO Luna Chan presented PathFinders’ work and the issues we face and are trying to address. We shared what we have learned over the last 6 years helping close to 2,300 babies in crisis and their mothers. An active exchange then followed covering topics including migrant children’s and women workers’ access to justice, access to healthcare, trafficking, forced labour, migration and statelessness. PathFinders has already helped some migrant children in crisis in Macau. We look forward to continuing today’s constructive dialogue and learnings with our esteemed guests. #pathfindershk
