Patience versus Gratitude One of the ways to avoid the monotony - TopicsExpress

Patience versus Gratitude One of the ways to avoid the monotony of life is to break routine and seek out adventure. But, the risk of adventure is that it might actually turn out to be a negative experience which would require one to have patience. Typically I advice folks to seek adventure but try to have a bailout plan, just incase. If I planned a 100 mile bike ride in a day or a twice that over the course of a weekend, theres always the risk of something going wrong. For example, this past May I attempted to ride from Maryland to New Jersey, a 250 mile route which I thought I could complete is about two days time. After the first day when I realized I was 30-miles behind schedule and the weather forecast wasnt in my favor. I made a rental reservation for the worst case scenario. Turned out trying to get to the rental location became an adventure of its own. Full story about that here: instagram/p/oUOC9GnRHQ/ The point is, everyone is on a journey of sort and theyre the hero of their story. And, like any good story, there are ups and down. Sometimes folks get sad that a great experience has ended. Other times theyre sad that theyre having a tough time. One way to connect with folks is to brighten their day. I like the quote of Dr Seuss, Dont cry because its over, smile because it happened. Its communicates the idea of gratitude. This can be applied in reverse as well. Dont cry because you have to endure at the moment. Smile, and hold your head up because itll be over soon and there are good time again. Even if you cannot see it, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. When good things happen, be grateful. But, when challenges present themselves, be patient. Itll be over soon.
