Patient update....Rons numbers are much better today, but when I got to his room they were getting ready for an ultra sound, thinking he may have a blood clot in his leg...ultra sound was negative...no clots...no babies (whew!!!!), so today they moved him to Progressive Care (Business Class..not quite First Class, but better than Economy or Coach!) Hes one step closer to dismissal. Dismissal depends on how his numbers stay up and how soon they can finish weaning him off of oxygen. Now to answer questions.....he was admitted to St Elizabeth in Lincoln Nebraska to have an ankle fusion of his left ankle...it was necessary because he was walking bone on bone. An ankle fusion only fuses 1 of many ankle joints, so he has motion in his ankles, he had the right ankle fused in February of 2013. They only thing he cannot do after the healing process is run....and he doesnt want to do that anyway...hes more of a mosey-er. The breathing issues are just part of the process we go thru because he has myastinia gravis...one of the complications is a weak diaphragm, which means he has to work harder to get deep breaths, and it is made worse by the anesthesia....but were in luck because hes not going to have any more ankles fused. Thank you all for your support and prayers, Ron & I both appreciate them (so do the boys and their families)
