Paul DeMain, Candidate for WI 29th Senate, joins Harvard Economist, Winona LaDuke, in a discussion after screening of Wisconsin Mining Documentary A screening of “Wisconsin’s Mining Standoff,” an American Fault Lines documentary, is scheduled for October 8, 2014, at 6:00pm at the Wausau Labor Temple, 318 South 3rd Avenue. The half hour documentary produced by 371 Productions of Milwaukee, Wisconsin for Al Jazeera USA, reviews the conflict in northern Wisconsin between pro and anti-mining citizens. At 6:30 after the film, Winona LaDuke, Harvard educated economist and Vice Presidential running mate of Ralph Nader in the 2000 election, will be the guest speaker. LaDuke’s speech entitled, “Tar Sands, Enbridge and the Influences of Multi-National Corporations,” addresses alternative employment opportunities to extractive industries. At 7:00, a one hour open discussion moderated by Rebecca Kemble, Journalist for the Progressive Magazine, will feature: ***Winona LaDuke ***Paul DeMain, the 29th District Senate candidate on the Democratic ballot ***Barb With, a founding member of the Wisconsin Citizens Media Coop ***Mike Wiggins, Chairman of the Bad River Chippewa Tribe. Doors open at 5:00pm. The event is free and open to the public. The Marathon County Democratic Party is hosting the event.
