Paula Priesse September 27th – According to Dems and the “Chicken Little” lib media there are only days left before the Apocalypse. But the dirty little secret is that there have been 17 government shutdowns since 1976. The longest (21 days) in 1995-1996 produced the big fat media lie of how this badly hurt Republicans. The reality is that in the 1996 elections the Repubs lost only a few measly House seats and actually gained 2 in the Senate. This week the WA Post wrote about what a shutdown would actually mean. Social Security checks would still be mailed, vet hospitals, the U.S. Postal Service, the Fed Reserve, air traffic control, emergency medical care, border patrol, fed prisons, law enforcement, disaster assistance and more would still operate. But you’ll have to wait a few days to get a passport or visit a national park and must live temporarily without fed agencies like the EPA & the Dept. of Education. Heck, shut it down now! And keep it shut down until the clowns in DC finally get our fiscal house in order! We promise feds we’ll manage just fine without the EPA, the DOE and yes, Obamacare. P
