Paused barbell back squats are a great way to increase the motor skills, control, stability and level of torso tightness necessary to perform good quality, heavy squats which are incredible for improving body composition, health and strength. Try holding the bottom of your squats for 2-3 seconds. This is also one of the best ways to improve lower body flexibility and will build confidence in the weakest part of the lift. I would not recommend this for those who squat to parallel as the knee joint is in its weakest position.
