Peace - an exhibition in Bridgetown, opening this evening Friday 20th September and tomorrow. I submitted two paintings from my visit to Jerusalem when the war was in nearby Gaza. Arab Quarter in the Old City. Enter through Damascus Gate, the streets are cobbled and handcarts deliver goods to the bazaars . Al Jazeera broadcasts with bombing and distraught people. Shopkeepers display wares of gorgeous fabrics and colours / beads of ambers, corals, lapis, turquoise / ancient pottery / spices / fragrant coffee and sweets / and pashminas of every hue and texture. Amidst such troubled times, peace from gazing at such exotica.
