Pedestrians have become one of the most endangered species in urban areas in the country. Footpaths have been grabbed by improvised shops, hawkers, encroachers and legal as well as illegal parking slots in league with the callous or conniving civic authorities and police. At places they are so uneven that even a young walker will stumble upon, what to talk of seniors. The quality of pavers is so poor that many of them give way to huge crater like holes! One has to jump at their life’s risk.
