Penguin Island has the largest colony of Little Penguins on the west coast and is thought to be home to as many as 600 pairs. The small 12.5 hectare island is situated within the Shoalwater Marine Park, less than 700 metres offshore from Mersey Point and is accessible by ferry. We strongly recommend you DO NOT WALK ACROSS THE SAND BAR to Penguin Island.
