People are always asking me how do you cord a poodle. I conducted - TopicsExpress

People are always asking me how do you cord a poodle. I conducted an experiment on Baldr, he has very correct poodle hair, and he HATES being brushed or groomed, so he was happy to be my guinea pig. I have not bathed (thankfully he doesnt get that dirty) brushed or touched Baldrs hair on his back in over 3 months, as you can see, he has perfectly formed cords all the way too the skin, and they are not matted at all. The only place they are a bit matted is at the end where rain has touched the hair. When cording, water is your friend, it sets the cord (matt), if I wanted to cord him, I would go thru his hair and spritz it with water and also bathe him at least once a week to set the cord and encourage matting. These cords, brush out very easily, the real thing you would need a clipper. Baldr would cord beautifully, but Foxxy is enough for me :) Thankfully he is gonna have a bath and be Gloria-fied, cause he is an overgrown wooly mammoth.
