People are probably aware that while 19 clubs in 18 cities are offering ACP approved rides, Goa Cycling decided to discontinue ACP approved rides on a stand of democratic principles and how AIR is not a democratically run organisation! (It is not) It appears however that their own decision, in their club which is supposed to be democratic, was taken by a small group of people in a closed meeting, without consulting their own ridership, in an altogether undemocratic manner. THEY just did the ridership a huge disservice by taking away their choice, to ride or organize brevets for themselves, and there are some who definitely wanted that choice. Randonneuring, or ACP approval, is a free choice in a democracy, not a fundamental right. Democracy (I hope this does not come as a shock) does not give you the right to DEMAND a free service or DICTATE how that service is offered! It give you the choice to use that service or not!! It gives you the choice to opt for another service or create your own! After understanding the terms of engagement, that at this point of time, Audax Club Parisien entrusts only Divya Tate to oversee ACPs activities in India.... 19 clubs from around the country, exercised their DEMOCRATIC right, their free choice to continue to offer ACP approval. No other evidence is needed... 19 Club Representatives, with the help of a number of other Ride Responsibles have made a huge commitment to the activity and to their ridership! There are 254 BRMs to choose from this year.... 38 in November alone! audaxindia.org/events.php
