People ask where was God when this happened or that happened...well let me share a personal story from this weekend: Dave had arranged with Walmart for us to do a Hearts for Military Heroes fundraisier. I didnt really want to do it because its still pretty dang hot here. But, I followed as he asked. A few hours later a young man approached me. He was a young Navy Diver veteran, retired out in January w/15 years. He couldnt stand straight due to spinal injuries. He looked tired. He said he saw our Hearts for Military Heroes Banner and wondered if we could help him with something. A navy veteran best friend had died several days before and the wife had asked this young man if he would handle the funeral home arrangements for her. He said he felt so overwhelmed and wasnt sure he was doing everything right or how to help her learn about her benefits. So, you ask, where was God in all this? God was right there at that moment because God lives inside each of us and we represent Him/Her in our actions anytime we are in the right place at the right time to assist those in need. Thats where God is...inside each of us...and I feel so blessed to be given the realization one more time that even when I dont want to go out in the heat or do something uncomfortable, I must because I never know when the God in me is to be available to a person in need that crosses my path. Since this meeting with this young veteran on Saturday, God has been there to help with many things as he is working through a number of us. Yes God is always there no mattter the situation because he lives in each of us.
