People want to say that Christianity is a crutch for the weak. I disagree I believe it takes a strong person to continually wake up every morning and purposefully try and fight against the very forces within oneself that make us human to begin with. It is human nature to be fallen. We live in a world that indulges temporal pleasures. To stand up everyday and turn our backs on whats accepted, normal, and popular - to war against desires innate in us from birth so that we can better witnesses for Christ - to give up everything the flesh wants to trust in an intangible God- to lay everything that is familiar and comfortable at the wayside in exchange for the unknown and eternal... That takes strength. That takes bravery and courage. But the irony comes when you realize that the strength to serve Christ in this way can only be gifted by Him. He can only rule when there is less of me. This life may seem paradoxical and absurd to those who havent experienced it...but to those of us who have tasted and seen...we know. It makes sense in an inexplicable way. Words would do no justice. We live to die and die to live. So stay strong. The world hated Him first...of course they will hate you. But do not be discouraged..we are not of this world. 116. Unashamed believers.
