People who are on low incomes are receiving £28bn in Welfare Benefits each year to top up there wages. Alot of these big companies who dont pay their workers enough money could afford to pay more but instead decide to line the pockets of Directors and shareholders instead. If these companies paid their employees more then some of this £28bn thats being picked up by the Tax payers could be significantly reduced and this would help towards reducing the defecit rather than axing vital public services in order to reduce the defecit.
