People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) Idinthakarai 627 104 Tirunelveli District Tamil Nadu November 27, 2013 For Immediate Release PMANE Expresses Support to Aam Admi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Polls The People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy (PMANE) expresses its strong support and solidarity to the Aam Admi Party that tries to clean up the political system in the country. The country has been thrust into a deep crisis by the Congress Party and the BJP, both of whom are equally corrupt and communal. Both their policies and programs have been not only similar but also anti-people. For instance, take the energy policy of the country. Nuclear energy is being bandied about as THE panacea for all of the country’s ills and evils by both parties. Nuclear energy is projected as the single solution for the nation’s lack of energy security, military security and the overall national security. All this in a country where hundreds of millions of people do not have food security, nutrition security, water security, sanitation security, other basic needs of life or human dignity. In the colonial mode of thinking of the Congress and the BJP, “the quality of life greatly depends on amount of energy spent.” For a developing country such as India that has many other pressing needs like food, housing, education, health, transportation and so on, energy alone cannot and should not be a top priority. What is happening in India right now is not just nuclearization of the country, but growing nuke-colonization, colonizing India all over again with the help of nuclear powers such as the United States, Russia, France etc. Both the Congress Party and the BJP are complicit in this seditious crime! The people of India are weary of this promised Nuclear Nirvana. We dont want to be slaves again in the name of energy security (nuclear power) and national security (nuclear bombs)! We demand peoples security and the basic necessities of life to all Indians. For that new beginning in India’s national life, we need new dreams, new visions, new ideas, new approaches and new leadership. And let that ‘new thing’ begin in New Delhi! The whole of India has turned to the Capital citizens for their path-breaking verdict with high hopes and expectations. We appeal to the voters of the state of Delhi to shun the corrupt and communal Congress Party and the BJP and hug the Aam Admi Party and its dynamic leaders Mr. Arvind Kejriwal and his comrades.
