Per Mike Daigle, South Bend International Airport executive director: INCOMING FLIGHTS: Due to the grounding of flights in Chicago with the FAA building fire, a lot of the aircraft coming into SBN are being held on the ground at their origination airport, so few flights are coming in. OUTGOING FLIGHTS: Any flight headed to Chicago is grounded. Theyre not diverting to other airports, theyre just grounded. Flights going to other major SBN connector airports like ATL, DET, Minneapolis, are being delayed, some pretty significantly. It could be later this afternoon before we start to see any significant improvement in SBN air travel, depending on how quickly Chicago is back up and running.
