Perception is a crazy thing. If you know me, youll know that Im a big fan of The Civil Wars. Im also a big fan of Katy Perry. They both sing songs called The One That Got Away. Same general message about sadness and doing things differently, but their songs have very different tones. The Civil Wars version seems romantically sad to me; Katys seems romantically hopeful. I guess my point is that sometimes loss, bad news, a bad day, etc. isnt necessarily a bad or sad thing.
