Perhaps many of us have lived a monastic life without realising it! Example - when I was a teen I loved Boy George and Culture Club. Each morning I would wake to gaze adoringly at my posters on the wall; mid-morning I would chat with my schoolmates about them; at lunch same again; after school I would sing with my hairbrush microphone while their tunes filled the room; before I closed my eyes one last look at those posters. As a Sister I now lead a similar life but my centre is God, alas not Boy George (great clothes though).
