Perhaps some of you may recall a month or two ago I wrote about the issue I had with the material which covers the patio roof, it looked filthy and after multiple attempts to try and clean it, which all failed I realized I would have to climb up the ladder and clean ½ of a square meter climb back down move the ladder and clean another ½ a meter. The temperature just under the roof is about 130 degrees during the day and if I am wrong it is because it is 135, at night it is still in the upper 90s. The roof is 75 square meters and it takes 5 minutes to clean a half of meter so perhaps you may understand why I left this job for last. But a man must do what a man must do…so tonight out the ladder came. After I set the ladder in position I started to walk towards the storeroom to get the cleaning supplies but only made it one ½ of a step when the answer I have been seeking for four months now... shot through me like a bolt of lightning…paint the ceiling! Yippie i o ki a, the roof is not attached to the length of the beams so I can use a mini paint roller on an extension pole and next to the beams I just have to apply enough pressure to raise the roof a couple of inches and can paint the roof above the beams without climbing the ladder or taping the beams off. The job will be finished in two hours and the white paint will also reflect the heat and help keep the patio cool
