Perhaps, the prelate fails to consider that since the inception of his church, its clergies are incomparable in their expedient way of articulating their plans of action. Certainly, their theocratic way of enforcing their plans of action has since been most effective. Their hostility to whoever comes across their plans is masked by felicity of expression and beatific smiles, and oftentimes taken and viewed by the innocent laity as message from heaven. Again, with an ALL-powerful/knowing deity on their side, why does such a god needs defending, by the way? Unless god is, indeed, most powerful to inspire peoples thoughts, why they incessantly instill that his being most benevolent must be feard? Thus far, for centuries the Philippines gripped by the RC Churchs influence, these empty rhetorics are repeatedly exhorted. Lets check: a) entire population character and behavior -- fail; b) solutions to complex issues -- fail, talk about gross corruptions, inept politicians, warts and all; and c) personal transformation -- same as (a), talk about daily cocktail of news on grotesque crimes. Over-all Church teachings: null and void, and theyre anything but divine-sanctioned. Kaya tumigil na sila. Lastly, indeed, the Filipino Freethinkers hits the bulls-eye when it says, enshrine theism as a preferred belief system and imply that those who do not subscribe to belief in a deity are at best second-class citizens who have flawed or incomplete values. Now, thats indisputably a fact which they have since clearly demonstrated -- in manner & behavior, in pulpit sermons, in pastoral letters, etc... Again, explain to me whats being godliness. pffttt...
