Periodically I get asked this question, so let me clarify this again. I am NOT a non-profit agency while I would like to be, the cost for fees, attorneys, etc. makes it impossible for me. Also, I do NOT usually receive the quilts, they go directly to the families in need. The only time I receive one is when they need to be finished and sent on. I occasionally receive funds to help pay for postage, fabric, batting, thread which is expensive. I also use that money to help others pay for postage if they want to send a quilt and cannot afford postage. If ever there is any monies left I send them onto the organization in need. Quilters are a rare breed, we give out of the generosity of our hands, our hearts and our spirits and not our wallets. If ever I could become a non-profit that would just be amazing. I will continue to make quilts for those in need and I hope you will too.
