“Personal Responsibility” It seems that personal responsibility Is something our world has lost Whether it be a smoking addiction Or the Holocaust Everyone blames everyone else For bad decisions everyone else makes But if we really look at it closely They were our own mistakes Fool me once, shame on you Fool me twice, and it’s my fault It’s up to you to defend yourself When you’re faced with an assault Whether it be an unethical corporation Or a world financial crisis Who bought those products, or borrowed that money? Who really made those choices? It’s up to you to use your brain For every product you buy You need to question why you’re buying it You need to ask yourself, “why?” Is it because you’re a slave to advertising? Because they tell you it’s cool It’s time to take personal responsibility And stop acting like a fool Every dollar you spend Is a decision you make So spend it wisely For goodness sake Eric Nanson
