Personal vlog milestone... I created one vlog six years and it created controversial debate in comments. Some of them are positive and some of them are ugly. I didnt remove ugly comments because its my proof that demeaning, prejudice, oppression, etc toward deaf people who rely ASL instead of Cochlear Implant still existed to this day. Originally, my vlog was posted for people who use ASL, but many other people want to understand what I am saying. Due to continue misunderstanding from comments. I asked my brother to transcript my vlog during 2011. The vlog has explosive comments and viewers from 2011 to 2013. From 2006 to 2011, there was 20k hits, but during 2011 to 2013 with transcript being available below my vlog. It has another 30k hits with more comments. Thus, it reached 50k hits. The vlog simply focus on regrets on cochlear implant, but people share different perspective and still most of them stand strong that kids still should have cochlear implant despite kids choice to have one. Most of their argumentative are parents rights. I agree, but why do they invest high cost and risk operation while ASL book cost only less than $20 with many resources being free online for parents to learn ASL and teach their deaf kids to use ASL. The regrets to have cochlear implant weight more than didnt have one. The current generation of cochlear implanters are our proofs, but cochlear implant activists keep using this quote, Cochlear Implant technologies has improve dramatic than past. The question is how much more time before getting to their thick head that cochlear implant isnt work for everyone and taking kids rights to use ASL isnt acceptable in Deaf community!
